This policy explains how FSO Institute collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our forms, booking pages, and web pages. It also explains your choices and your rights.
Who we are
FSO Institute publishes these pages and is responsible for the information they collect. The ways to reach us are at the end of this policy.
What we collect
We collect this information:
- Form answers. We store the answers you enter in our forms. We also store the page that referred you and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
- Booking details. When you book a time, we store your name, email address, chosen time and time zone, and any guests or note you add.
- Emails. We keep the emails we send you and the replies you send us. Our emails may record when you open them and which links you click.
- Visits. Our web pages may record each visit. A visit record holds your IP address, approximate location, device, browser, referring page, and time on the page.
- Business details. We may add business details about you from data providers, such as your company and job title.
- Device and browser data. When you send a form or book a time, Google reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and browser to check for automated abuse.
How we use it
We use your information for these purposes:
- To reply to your request and follow up on it, including by email.
- To schedule your meeting and email you about it.
- To keep our records of the people and companies we work with.
- To learn which pages and campaigns bring people to us.
- To keep spam and abuse off our pages.
Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:
- Steps you ask us to take. When you book a time or send a request, we use your details to do what you asked.
- Legitimate interests. We follow up on requests, learn which pages work, and keep out abuse. We weigh these interests against your rights.
- Consent. Where you give consent, such as by ticking a box on a form, we rely on it. You can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
These services handle some of your information for us:
- Hosting and email providers. They host our pages, keep our records, and send our email.
- Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook. When you book a time, we add the meeting to our calendar in Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook. Your invitation carries a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link.
- Google reCAPTCHA. Our forms and booking pages use reCAPTCHA to keep out spam and abuse. It sends information about your device and browser to Google. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load their typefaces from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Meta and Google ads. Some pages tell Meta and Google about your visit, so we can measure our ads. This doesn't happen for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. We may also send Meta hashed contact details, such as your email address and phone number, to measure and target our ads. Meta compares each hash with its own records to match you to a Meta account.
- Data providers. To find business details about you, we may share your name, email address, or company with them.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
Cookies and similar technologies
For visitors in the United States, some of our web pages set a cookie that recognizes your browser for up to a year. If you confirm your email address to open one of our pages, a second cookie remembers it for 30 days after your last visit.
If you open one of our pages from a link in our email, we may link your browser to that email address. When we recognize you, we connect your visits to our record of you, if we have one.
Our emails carry a small image that tells us when you open them. Google reCAPTCHA may set a cookie of its own. Some pages use cookies from Meta and Google to measure ad results. They don't load for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. A page that asks you to confirm your email address needs its cookie to let you in.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while we need it for the purposes in this policy, or until you ask us to delete it. We may keep some records longer where the law requires it.
How we protect it
We serve our pages over encrypted connections and check requests for spam and abuse. No way of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
International transfers
Our service providers may process your information in the United States and in other countries. Where the law requires safeguards for these transfers, we rely on measures such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Object to how we use your information, or ask us to limit it.
- Get your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
- Withdraw consent you gave us.
To stop our emails, use the unsubscribe link where an email has one, or reply and ask us. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
US state privacy rights
In US states with privacy laws, such as California, you may have the right to know, get, correct, and delete your personal information.
Our pages use Steerco, an identity resolution service. Steerco may recognize your browser from a visit to another website that uses Steerco, and connect your visits to your name and email address. Steerco identifies people only when they visit from the United States.
To opt out at any time, visit Do not sell or share my personal information. Once you do, our servers stop sending your contact details to Meta.
We honor Global Privacy Control. When your browser sends it, we don't recognize you across websites. We also ask Meta and Google to use your visit only to measure our ads. If it sends the signal when you send a form or book a time, we leave you out of the audiences we send Meta. Any other event our servers send Meta about you asks it to limit how it uses your details.
We will not treat you differently for using your rights. An authorized agent may make a request for you, and we may need to confirm your identity first.
Children
Our pages are not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page.
